Attorney Biography

Lisa Dreyer Ball is a founding partner in the Dallas, Texas based law firm of Tollefson, Bradley, Ball & Mitchell LLP. She maintains an active first and third party insurance litigation and insurance coverage practice representing standard, non-standard and surplus lines insurance carriers, reinsurers, managing general agencies, and soliciting agents. In addition to handling large-loss third party claims, Ms. Ball had devoted a substantial portion of her practice to defending insurers and their agents against claims for the breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing; violations of the Texas Insurance Code; Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act violations; breach of contract, misrepresentation, fraud claims, and other extra-contractual claims. She also works with insurers to address coverage issues related to personal automobile policies, business auto policies, and the Truckers Coverage Form, as well as other ISO coverage forms

ADMISSIONS: Admitted to practice before the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Districts Courts for all Districts of Texas.

EDUCATION: Ms. Ball obtained her license to practice law in the state of Texas in 1988. A 1984 honor graduate of Cornell College with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, she obtained her Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University where she served as an officer and member of the Board of Advocates and a member of the San Antonio based William S. Sessions Inn of Court. In 2002 Ms. Ball was certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law. Prior to attending law school Ms. Ball worked as a contract reporter for a CBS affiliate KGAN -TV.

MEMBERSHIPS & ACTIVITIES: Ms. Ball is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association; and the Insurance Law Section of the Texas State Bar. She has served on various boards, planning and organizational committees on behalf of Jesuit College Preparatory School and Ursuline Academy of Dallas.
